An official spokesperson of the campus said the College Anti-Ragging Committee, under the guidance of its Convener Dr. Wasia Hamid, organised a placard rally within the college campus to raise awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and reinforce the institution’s firm stance on maintaining a ragging-free environment.

The rally began from the college main gate and moved through various departments before culminating at the central courtyard. Students, alongside faculty members, actively participated by carrying impactful placards bearing messages like “Say No to Ragging,” “Ragging is a Crime,” and “Let Freshers Feel at Home.”

Spokesperson said these slogans were designed to sensitize the college community about the physical, emotional, and psychological consequences of ragging, while promoting values of empathy, inclusivity, and mutual respect.

Beyond being a visual statement, the rally marked a proactive initiative by the college to cultivate a culture of accountability and support. It also served as a curtain-raiser for a series of upcoming events such as workshops and interactive sessions focused on educating students about the legal provisions and institutional mechanisms to prevent ragging.

The event concluded with a solemn pledge-taking ceremony, where students vowed to uphold the dignity of their peers, reject all forms of ragging, and stand by anyone affected by such acts.
