Bandipora Police Arrests Three LeT OGWs in Hajin

Bandipora, April 29, 2025: Bandipora Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) in Hajin area of Bandipora district.

An official spokesperson said in a joint operation with the CRPF’s 45 Battalion and the Army’s 13 Rashtriya Rifles, arrested three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) affiliated with the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the Hajin area. “Acting on specific inputs about the movement of suspected OGWs, a joint naka was established at Shahgund Nursery”.

During the naka checking, three individuals were seen approaching from Khusarpora towards Shahgund. On noticing the presence of security forces, the suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended tactfully by the alert personnel.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Shahzad Ahmad, son of Mohammad Khalil, Danish Ahmad Parray, son of Ghulam Mohammad Parray, and Ather Iqbal, son of Ghulam Mohammad Rafiqee, all residents of Hajin. Upon questioning, the trio confessed to being associated with the LeT as OGWs. During their personal search, the security forces recovered two Chinese hand grenades, one 7.62 mm magazine, and seventeen live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition from their possession.

Following the recovery, a case under FIR No. 33/2025 was registered at Police Station Hajin under sections 18, 23, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and section 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
