Bandipora April 27: Department of Physical Education and Sports Government Degree College Sumbal today organized the Annual College Road Race.
The event was conducted under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Shabeena Iqbal Shawl, Principal of the College.
A significant number of students, both boys and girls, participated with zeal and enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of healthy competition and physical fitness. The race, covering an approximately 8 kms distance, commenced from the Ganastan Petrol Pump and concluded at the College Gate, testing the stamina and endurance of the participants. The first three position holders in each category were awarded trophies as a mark of recognition for their outstanding athletic achievements.
In the girls’ category, Syeda Zehra secured the first position, while in the boys’ category, Mir Mudasir Tariq emerged victorious, setting an impressive pace throughout the race.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Sajad Ahmad Dar, Convener of the Sports Committee, delivered a vote of thanks, expressing profound gratitude to the Principal for her unwavering support and encouragement. He also acknowledged the commendable efforts of the college faculty, the Protocol Committee, the Healthcare Department Sumbal, and the Police Station Sumbal, whose active involvement and professional assistance were instrumental in the successful execution of the programme.
