Bandipora, April 18: In an effort to highlight and address key challenges faced by the education sector in Bandipora district, the District President of Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKRETTF) Muntazir Muneer, met MLA Sonawari, Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone.
During the meeting, Muneer raised several pressing issues concerning both teaching and non-teaching staff across the district. He flagged critical gaps such as staff shortages, poor infrastructure in schools, pending General Provident (GP) fund cases, and the long-pending transition of teachers from TG-3 to TG-2 categories. He stressed the urgent need for policy-level interventions to uplift the standard of education in the region.
A major highlight of the discussion was the plight of AAYAS working in various schools. Muneer underlined their crucial contribution to the daily functioning and student well-being in government schools and urged the legislator to push for their regularization and continued engagement in the system.
Responding to the concerns, MLA Hilal Akbar Lone assured his full support and promised to take up the issues with the concerned authorities. He emphasized his commitment to strengthening the education system and pledged to raise these matters at appropriate forums for timely redressal.
The meeting concluded on a hopeful note, with both sides expressing optimism that the concerns raised will translate into meaningful action on the ground.
