Miran Sahib, Jammu – April 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) 8th Battalion conducted a 10-kilometre road march today, aimed at enhancing physical fitness, endurance, and team coordination among its personnel. The march commenced from the JKAP-8th Bn. campus, passed through Tanda, and concluded at the battalion headquarters.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and jawans, who maintained high discipline and coordination throughout the march. The exercise was designed to ensure the operational preparedness of the force in handling any emergency or law and order situation.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Suram Singh (JKPS), SSP Commandant of JKAP-8th Bn., lauded the dedication and resilience of the personnel. He stressed the importance of physical fitness in police duties, particularly in ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order.
“The road march not only builds physical strength but also instills teamwork and boosts morale,” SSP Singh said, adding that such activities reinforce the force’s commitment to public service.
Residents along the route witnessed the disciplined movement of the personnel, which also served as a confidence-building measure, reinforcing the community’s trust in the security forces.
The march concluded with a brief interaction session at the headquarters. Sh. Bhupinder Singh (Dy SP) and Sh. SI Hans Raj, Lines Officer, were also present on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the participants.
The JKAP 8th Battalion reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region, emphasizing that regular physical drills are essential to remain mission-ready.
