Rajouri, April 19: In a continued effort to empower communities and promote gender equality, the Indian Army organised an awareness lecture on the Government of India’s flagship initiative “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” in the remote region of Budhal, district Rajouri.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, community leaders, and local residents. The session focused on spreading awareness about the importance of protecting and educating the girl child, with emphasis on both social responsibilities and the legal rights associated with women’s welfare.
Army officials interacted with attendees, underlining the pivotal role of girls in society and the need to eliminate gender-based discrimination. Informational pamphlets and educational materials detailing various government schemes for the girl child were distributed during the session.
This initiative is part of the Indian Army’s ongoing efforts to support national missions and contribute to the socio-economic upliftment of remote and underserved regions of Jammu & Kashmir. The event not only educated the public but also reinforced the Army’s commitment to social development, harmony, and inclusive growth.
Local residents expressed deep appreciation for the Army’s initiative in addressing such crucial issues and hoped for more such engagements in the future.
