NCC Girls Training Camp Begins at Nagrota with 450 Cadets

Nagrota, April 18: The 1 J&K Girls Battalion NCC Srinagar has commenced its Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at the NCC Training Academy (NTA) Nagrota, under the command of Colonel S P Tiwari.

The camp, which began on April 17 and will continue till April 26, is hosting around 450 girl cadets from across Jammu and Kashmir.

An official spokesperson said the camp aims to inculcate discipline, teamwork, leadership, and community service among the cadets. It will also serve as a selection ground for the Srinagar group’s Thal Sainik team, shooting competition, best cadet for Republic Day Camp 2026, and cultural team for SNIC Srinagar 2025.

Over the ten-day programme, cadets will participate in a wide array of activities including drill practice, rifle firing, physical training, obstacle courses, and social service. Guest lectures on Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security, as well as demonstrations on firefighting and disaster management, are also part of the schedule. An educational excursion has been planned to provide further exposure.

On the first day, the cadets were given a warm reception at NTA Nagrota. The official opening took place on April 18 with an address by Camp Commandant Col Tiwari, who briefed the cadets on training schedules, camp protocols, and expectations.

Officials said the cadets have shown great enthusiasm and are actively participating in all activities. The organising unit is committed to making the camp a holistic and transformative experience for the participants.
