Bandipora, April 16: In a thoughtful initiative aimed at sensitizing young minds about the perils of substance abuse, the Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) Bandipora has launched a district-level online painting competition titled “Say No to Drugs” under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The campaign is part of JKTF’s continued efforts to create a drug-free society through education and awareness.
An official spokesperson said competition is Open to all students up to Class 10 across Bandipora district and said they have invited children to express their creativity and ideas through art, encouraging them to reflect on the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of choosing a healthy, positive lifestyle.
According to JKTF officials, the last date for submission of entries is April 30, 2025. The paintings will be evaluated by a jury comprising educators and artists, and special prizes will be awarded to the top two entries that best capture the theme and convey the message.
“This is more than just a painting competition. It’s a powerful medium to engage our children in the fight against drug abuse,” said a JKTF spokesperson. “We believe awareness must begin early, and such initiatives empower students to stand strong against peer pressure and harmful temptations.”
The Forum has urged all school heads, teachers, and parents in the district to encourage student participation and contribute to making the campaign a success. Updates regarding guidelines, submissions, and prize distribution will be made available via JKTF Bandipora’s official social media handles.
The competition is a step forward in fostering collective community action and instilling values of resilience, awareness, and social responsibility in the youth.
