Bandipora Entrepreneurs Receive Shot in the Arm as JKEDI Launches RAMP-Backed MDP

Structured training programme aims to enhance managerial skills and boost sustainability of local MSMEs

Bandipora April, 15 : Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Monday inaugurated a Management Development Programme (MDP) under the RAMP scheme at its RSETI Centre in Bandipora, aimed at strengthening local entrepreneurs and MSMEs through structured training and skill-building.

An official spokesperson of district administration Bandipora said the inaugural ceremony of MDP under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme was held by JKEDI at its RSETI Centre, Bandipora, marking a significant step towards strengthening the capabilities of local entrepreneurs and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through structured training and capacity-building interventions.

On the occasion, DC Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, interacted with the participants, shared his valuable thoughts on the importance of entrepreneurship, and highlighted its role in driving self-reliance and local economic development. He encouraged the participants to take full advantage of such training programmes and accelerate their entrepreneurial activities with confidence and innovation.

The MDP is a key component of the RAMP scheme, focused on enhancing managerial competencies, improving decision-making skills, and promoting business sustainability among existing and aspiring entrepreneurs.

DNO, JKEDI, Syed Nazneen provided a detailed overview of the RAMP scheme, which is a World Bank-supported programme launched by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. The scheme is designed to improve the performance of MSMEs across the country by enhancing market access, streamlining policy implementation, and providing focused support in areas like digital enablement, skill development, and financial access. The Managerial Development Programme (MDP) under RAMP plays a vital role in building the managerial and entrepreneurial skills of grassroots-level business owners.

The initiative reflects JKEDI’s continued commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and driving economic development in the district by empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to start, manage, and grow their enterprises effectively.

Among others the event was attended by Director RSETI; Chief Planning Officer Bandipora, Mohammed Maqbool Lone ; officials from JKEDI and aspiring entrepreneurs.
