Bandipora, April 14: UT General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) and EJAC Mir Bashir on Monday stated unequivocally that the unjust harassment of teachers will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Speaking at a felicitation event organized by JKTF District Bandipora at Wular Vantage Park, Mr. Bashir said that before teachers are held accountable for results, the government must first ensure that all essential facilities are in place in schools.

“In many schools, there are only two teachers for 90 students, and in some cases, just four teachers for over 200 children. In such conditions, expecting 100% results is simply unfair,” he remarked. He also revealed that JKTF has formed teams at the district level to promptly address any complaints from teachers facing unnecessary pressure, harassment, or injustice. “We urge any teacher or employee being wronged to come forward and reach out to these teams. The Teachers Forum and EJAC will not stand idle in the face of such treatment,” he added.

The event, held in honor of newly nominated forum members including Zonal Presidents of Bandipora and Quilmuqam, District Publicity Incharge, and other office bearers, also marked a crucial step in further strengthening the organizational framework of JKTF in the district.

The gathering began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by District Vice President Mr. Majid Majeed, setting a spiritual tone to the proceedings. Newly inducted members introduced themselves, shared their vision for the forum, and laid out strategies for proactive engagement with educators across the zone. District President Mr. Sajad delivered an inspiring address, underlining the urgent need to uphold unity, mutual respect, and a spirit of service among teachers.

Chief Guest Mr. Mir Bashir, in his comprehensive speech, assured the gathering that the pressing issues faced by teachers would be pursued in a structured and time-bound manner and reiterated the forum’s commitment to justice, transparency, and improved working conditions.

District General Secretary Anjum Nisar emphasized the importance of collective strength in keeping the forum responsive and relevant, while Majid Majeed, in his closing remarks, expressed full faith in the energy and sincerity of the newly appointed representatives.
