Rajouri, March 29: In a continued effort to foster trust and strengthen ties with the Bakarwal community, the Indian Army conducted a two-day outreach program in the remote areas of Kalaban and Galuthi villages, culminating in a medical camp at Thapa and Hundi Mohalla.
The initiative, aimed at providing essential healthcare services, saw an overwhelming response with 74 Bakarwals receiving treatment, including 10 elderly persons, 30 men, 20 women, and 14 children. Indian Army medical personnel conducted check-ups, provided medicines, and spread awareness about basic health and hygiene, reaffirming their commitment to the well-being of those living in these challenging terrains.
Beyond medical assistance, the program served as a platform for engagement, allowing the Army to interact with the community, understand their concerns, and reinforce mutual trust. Locals expressed gratitude for the Army’s continued support, emphasizing the importance of such outreach initiatives in strengthening civil-military relations.
