Rangyug Celebrates World Theatre Day with Captivating Reading of Lahron Ke Rajhans

Jammu, March 27: On the occasion of World Theatre Day, Rangyug presented a captivating script reading of Mohan Rakesh’s timeless classic Lahron Ke Rajhans at Rangyug Studio.

An official spokesperosn said the presentation seamlessly blended deep emotions, evocative narration, and an immersive ambiance, leaving the audience spellbound.

Directed by renowned theatre director Deepak Kumar, the performance was a tribute to the brilliance of Indian theatre, drawing the audience into the play’s intense conflicts through powerful character portrayals, an enchanting musical backdrop and a visually striking set.

Mohan Rakesh’s Lahron Ke Rajhans is a deeply introspective play that explores the conflict between material attachments and spiritual liberation. Set against the backdrop of ancient India, it delves into the dilemmas of Nand, a man caught between worldly desires and renunciation and the emotional turmoil of Sundari, who struggles to hold on to love in the face of change.

The reading featured Raj Kumar Behrupia as Nand, Juhie Mohan as Sundari, Poonam as Alka, Shvetaang as Ashish Sharma, Shyamaang as Shivan Gupta, Maitrya as Deepak Kumar, Soham Kashyap as Bhikshu Anand, Sumit as Shashank and Aashvi as Niharika. Their expressive dialogue delivery, nuanced pauses and tonal shifts made the reading feel like a full-fledged theatrical experience.

A few moments stood out, leaving the audience deeply moved—Nand’s silent hesitation before a crucial decision, Sundari’s voice trembling with suppressed emotions and Bhikshu Anand’s calm yet piercing words echoing in the hushed atmosphere.

The script reading was elevated by a soul-stirring musical background that subtly underscored the shifting moods of the play, immersing the audience in Nand’s world of inner conflict and existential longing.
