Hajin, March 27: Authorities on Thursday conducted a market inspection in Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district to ensure quality standards and regulate prices ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The inspection drive was led by Naib Tehsildar Hajin, Farooq Ahmad, along with Metrology Department Officer, Mushtaq Ahmad, and officials from the Municipal Committee, Animal Husbandry Department, Food Supply, Revenue, and Food Safety Department.
The teams inspected various establishments, including vegetable and fruit vendors, meat and poultry shops, grocery stores, and bakeries. Several shopkeepers found violating pricing and quality regulations were fined a total of ₹4,500.
Naib Tehsildar Farooq Ahmad emphasized that such drives will continue to ensure the availability of quality commodities at fair prices. He urged traders to strictly follow regulations and prominently display rate lists at their business establishments to avoid penalties.
