RECPDCL Transfers Ratle Kiru Power Transmission Project to IndiGrid

Transmission project to enhance J&K-Punjab grid connectivity

Srinagar, March 24, 2025 – REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has officially handed over the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) Ratle Kiru Power Transmission Limited to IndiGrid 2 Private Limited for the development of an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project.

An official spokesperson said the transfer took place at an event in Gurugram, attended by senior officials from RECPDCL, IndiGrid, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited.

IndiGrid 2 Private Limited emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) conducted by RECPDCL, which acted as the Bid Process Coordinator for the project. Under the Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) model, IndiGrid will develop the transmission project within a 24-month implementation period.

The project involves constructing 150 km of 400 kV transmission lines between Samba (J&K) and Jalandhar (Punjab) and 35 km of 400 kV lines between Kishenpur (J&K) and Samba, along with associated works. The estimated cost of the project is ₹1,407.44 crore.

The SPV was formally handed over by T.S.C. Bosh, CEO, RECPDCL, to Puneet Singh Chauhan, Vice President & Head (Commercial), IndiGrid 2 Private Limited.
