Indian Army Organizes Stitching and Tailoring Course for Women in Marha, Poonch

Poonch, March 21: The Indian Army, under Operation Sadbhavana, successfully conducted a Stitching and Tailoring Course in Marha, Poonch, from February 17 to March 20, 2025, aimed at empowering local women with essential skills for self-reliance.

Twenty women from Marha and nearby areas participated in the program, learning stitching and tailoring under the guidance of expert instructors. To support their entrepreneurial journey, the Army distributed sewing machines to all participants along with certificates of completion.

The initiative, widely appreciated by the locals, reinforced the Army’s commitment to community development and women’s empowerment. Residents lauded the Army’s efforts in reaching out to remote areas where access to government schemes remains limited.

Through Operation Sadbhavana, the Indian Army continues to foster goodwill, skill development, and socio-economic upliftment, ensuring a brighter and more self-sufficient future for women in the region.
