Pampore, March 17: In a significant effort to promote inclusive education for Children with Special Needs (CWSN), an Environmental Building Programme under Inclusive Education SAMAGRA Shiksha was held at Government Middle School (GMS) Drangbal, Zone Pampore. The initiative aimed to encourage the enrollment of CWSN students in resource centers where they can access specialized support and facilities.
The programme witnessed the participation of teachers from Zone Pampore, various delegates, and parents of CWSN children, with a collective focus on ensuring equal access to quality education for all, particularly students with disabilities and those from marginalized communities.
A major highlight of the event was the integration of Braille and Indian Sign Language into the teaching process to support students with visual and hearing impairments. This aligns with national policies on inclusive education, reinforcing the commitment to equitable learning opportunities for every child, regardless of ability.
Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Pampore, Shahnaz Ahmad Malik, emphasized the importance of educational accessibility for all children. He urged parents to enroll their wards in CWSN resource centers, where they can benefit from necessary educational and developmental facilities.
Speaking to Kashmir Convener, ZEO Pampore, Shahnaz Ahmad Malik, described the CWSN Programme as an initiative by the government and a commendable step taken by CEO Pulwama. He highlighted the success of students like Mohammad Irfan, a CWSN student who has secured employment in a government job, showcasing the impact of inclusive education.
The programme marked a crucial step towards strengthening inclusive education and ensuring that children with special needs receive the support they require to excel in their academic and professional journeys.
