Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to encourage scientific curiosity among students has found enthusiastic support through the Ministry of Ayush’s ‘One Day as a Scientist’ initiative. Aligning with the vision of a scientifically driven India, various Ayush institutions have opened their laboratories to young students, offering them first hand exposure to research, modern technology, and the integration of traditional medicine with contemporary advancements. Students from institutions such as Amity University Jaipur, Dr. Gururaju Government Homoeopathic Medical College, and Captain Jailal Academic School had the unique opportunity to explore state-of-the-art laboratories and interact with leading researchers. Visits to the National Institute of Ayurveda, the Regional Research Institute (H) in Gudivada, and the Central Research Institute for Yoga & Naturopathy in Jhajjar provided hands-on learning experiences, particularly in areas such as respiratory studies, homeopathic research methodologies, and the scientific validation of yoga and naturopathy. The initiative, coinciding with National Science Day 2025, reinforces India’s commitment to empowering youth for global leadership in science and innovation. By bridging the gap between ancient wisdom and modern research, Ayush institutions are playing a crucial role in fostering scientific inquiry among the next generation. Encouraged by the overwhelming response, the Ministry of Ayush aims to expand such initiatives, ensuring that more young minds get a chance to witness the evolving landscape of scientific discovery in traditional medicine. By nurturing curiosity today, India is laying the foundation for a future where innovation and heritage walk hand in hand.
