Bandipora, March 10: The Bandipora-Gurez road remains closed for the 13th consecutive day, causing severe hardships for residents and leading to a shortage of essential supplies, particularly during the holy month of Ramzan.
Locals have urged authorities to expedite snow clearance and restore connectivity at the earliest to ensure the availability of basic necessities while many have also demanded the resumption of helicopter services for Kanzalwan, citing past practices during prolonged road closures.
Expressing frustration over the delay, residents have questioned the district administration and urged Deputy Commissioner Bandipora and the Officer Commanding of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to take immediate measures to reopen the crucial route.
The road closure has not only disrupted daily life but also affected medical emergencies, with residents struggling to access healthcare facilities in Bandipora and Srinagar.
As the harsh winter lingers, people continue to wait for swift action to restore connectivity and ease their growing difficulties.
