Nagrota, March 8: Sainik School Nagrota marked International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm, reaffirming its commitment to gender equality and empowering young girls for leadership roles, especially in the Armed Forces.
An official Spokesperson said the event witnessed the participation of 43 girl cadets along with lady teachers from Sainik School Nagrota and Chinar Primary School.
The celebration began with an introduction to the significance of International Women’s Day, followed by speeches from Cadet Nivriti Namya and Cadet Rashi Yadav, who highlighted the milestones achieved by women globally and the challenges ahead in ensuring gender equality. “Their words resonated with the young girl cadets aspiring to serve in the Indian Armed Forces”.
Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal of Sainik School Nagrota, delivered an insightful address on the historical significance of International Women’s Day, its global recognition, and the role of women in shaping the future. He commended the determination of the girl cadets, calling them the torchbearers of the institution.
Spokesperson further stated a cake-cutting ceremony was also held that symbolized the collective celebration of womanhood, followed by a group photograph and an informal interaction over high tea. “The event underscored the school’s progressive approach in fostering future leaders, reinforcing its dedication to gender inclusivity and excellence in service to the nation”.
