Rajouri, March 5: The Indian Army has commenced the Inter Village Volleyball Championship at Government Girls High School, Manjakote, in Rajouri district.
An official spokesperson said the two-day tournament features twelve teams from the Manjakote block, competing for the coveted Champion’s Trophy.
More than just a sporting event, the championship aims to engage the youth, promote brotherhood, and instill sportsmanship among the participants. By providing a platform for young athletes, the Indian Army is encouraging skill development and helping them stay away from negative influences. The event has garnered widespread enthusiasm, drawing villagers, community leaders, and sports enthusiasts who gathered to cheer for the competing teams.
The tournament concluded with an intense final match between Saroola Strikers and Hayatpura. Initially planned as a best-of-five sets competition, Saroola Strikers dominated from the start, securing a straight-set victory over Hayatpura to claim the title.
Spokesperson said through such initiatives, the Indian Army continues to foster trust, cooperation, and goodwill with the local community while promoting sports and youth engagement in the region.
