Bandipora, Feb 18: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (GLTF), Bandipora, on Wednesday called on Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora Abdul Majeed Dar and submitted charter of demands.
An official spokesperson of the organization said the delegation was led by General Secretary (Kashmir Province) Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Lone. He said the delegation extended a warm welcome to the CEO and expressed optimism that his tenure would bring significant improvements to the education sector in the district.
During the meeting, the delegation submitted a charter of demands, highlighting key issues that require urgent attention.
According to the spokesperson, GLTF demanded Adequate Staffing in Remote Areas by ensuring sufficient teaching staff in far-flung areas to improve education quality.
They also demanded Transfer of Teachers and Masters from Zone Gurez (ATD 2023) – Addressing concerns regarding the Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) 2023 for teachers from Gurez.
Spokesperson said the GLTF also flagged Deployment of Subject-Specific Teachers by Assigning specialized teachers in High and Higher Secondary Schools for better subject-wise learning.
GLTF also demanded timely Release of Travel Allowance (TA) for January 2025 – Ensuring the prompt disbursement of TA for teachers who attended official duties in January 2025.
The delegations also urged Utilization of Teachers from Merged Schools – Proper deployment of teachers from recently merged schools to optimize workforce distribution.
The forum also called for Rationalization of Staff Before School Reopening – Completing the staff rationalization process before the new academic session to ensure smooth functioning of schools.
The delegation expressed confidence that the CEO would prioritize these issues and take necessary steps to strengthen the educational framework in Bandipora.
