Jammu, Feb 13 : Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha presided over a crucial high-level security meeting in Jammu on Thursday to assess the security situation in the region.

The meeting was attended by top officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army and the Central Reserve Police force (CRFP).

News gathering agency KINS reported that the meeting, held at the Convention Centre, took place shortly after the LG attended a program of the J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides.

According to official sources, the primary focus of the meeting was to strengthen coordination among various security agencies in Jammu. Key topics discussed included enhancing surveillance, improving intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and reinforcing counter-terrorism operations.

Sources revealed that LG Sinha took a comprehensive review of the current security measures in Jammu division and emphasized proactive steps to prevent terror incidents.

There was a special focus on tightening security along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterland, with heightened vigilance against potential threats.

This meeting follows an earlier security review conducted by the LG in Srinagar on Wednesday, where he issued firm directives to dismantle terrorist networks and take stringent action against those supporting terrorism.

During the meeting, LG Sinha reiterated the broader vision for Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting the region’s progress toward peace and prosperity. He stressed the critical need for intelligence coordination and precision in anti-terror operations to safeguard the region’s security.

Beyond security, the welfare of the forces was also discussed, with the LG focusing on improving working conditions and providing better facilities for personnel engaged in counter-insurgency operations.

With evolving security dynamics in mind, sources confirmed that LG Sinha has instructed all agencies to intensify efforts to address any potential threats, ensuring Jammu and Kashmir remains secure and stable in the face of ongoing challenges. (KINS)
