Bharti Airtel Foundation Organizes Exposure Visit for Govt Teachers 

Srinagar, Jan 31: Bharti Airtel Foundation, in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education Jammu, successfully concluded an exposure visit for government science teachers at the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Jammu, under the CSIR Jigyasa program.

A total of 81 science teachers from government schools in Jammu, Samba, and Rajouri districts participated in the initiative, which was conducted as part of the Quality Support Program by Bharti Airtel Foundation. The workshop aimed to provide teachers with hands-on training in cutting-edge scientific research and practical applications, enhancing their ability to engage students with real-world scientific methods.

Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director of CSIR-IIIM Jammu, addressed the participants, emphasizing the significance of such initiatives in promoting scientific awareness and addressing societal challenges. Mr. Anil Bhat, Regional Head of Bharti Airtel Foundation, highlighted the foundation’s continued efforts to support schools across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in collaboration with the education department.

Dr. Abdul Rahim, Chief Scientist and Head of RMBD & IST at CSIR-IIIM, elaborated on the Skill India Initiative, which focuses on enhancing the teaching skills of educators to improve classroom learning. The technical sessions were led by Dr. Asha Chaubey, Senior Principal Scientist and Head of the Fermentation and Microbial Biotechnology Department, who also serves as the Nodal Scientist for the Jigyasa program.

The workshop included interactive technical lectures and practical sessions, where teachers conducted basic science experiments aligned with school curricula. The exposure visit served as a bridge between scientific research and classroom teaching, fostering a deeper connection between educators and the scientific community.

This initiative marks a significant step toward empowering teachers with advanced scientific knowledge, ultimately benefiting students and improving the overall quality of science education in government schools.
