GANDERBAL, JANUARY 30: In a significant initiative for women’s rights and protection, Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, Ganderbal, in collaboration with TLSA Ganderbal, Special Cell for Women, and ICDS conducted an impactful awareness camp at Dar Mohalla Chunt Walivar, under the supervision of the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) today.
The camp focused on the NALSA (Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Women and Children) Scheme, 2015, providing crucial information about legal protections, rehabilitation support, and measures to combat trafficking and exploitation.
Legal experts and government officials discussed the importance of community vigilance, legal aid services, and the role of law enforcement in preventing gender-based crimes.
In addition to the legal framework, the camp also highlighted various women-centric government schemes, such as financial assistance programs, skill development initiatives, and the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, aimed at empowering women and promoting gender equality.
As part of the BBBP initiative, Sankalp Hub distributed baby kits and blankets to nursing mothers, reinforcing its commitment to maternal and child welfare.
The camp witnessed active participation from women in the region, who engaged in discussions, sought legal guidance, and shared concerns about gender-based violence and exploitation.
Officials emphasized the importance of reporting crimes, utilizing available welfare schemes, and empowering women to take charge of their rights.
