Bandipora, Jan 25: District Hospital Bandipora performed its first-ever disimpaction surgery under the Ayushman Bharat-Sehat scheme, marking a significant milestone in the hospital’s healthcare services, an official spokesperson said on Saturday.

The surgery was conducted by Dr. Khalid Bashir Shah and assisted by Dental Technician Mohammad Ashraf.

Spokesperson said Medical Superintendent Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani commended the Dental team for their dedication and expertise in executing the successful surgery. He said the surgery reflects the hospital’s growing capacity to deliver advanced medical procedures locally.

“This is the first of its kind dental disimpaction surgery performed at our hospital. We are proud of our team and urge locals to utilize our enhanced healthcare services,” Dr. Wani stated.

He assured the public of the hospital’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality medical care to the residents of Bandipora and surrounding areas.

Patients and their attendants expressed relief and gratitude for the service, noting that such procedures previously required travel to Srinagar or private clinics, causing both financial and logistical burdens.

Spokesperson said a patient’s family member remarked, “This is a great initiative by the hospital authorities. Such services save us time, money, and the inconvenience of traveling long distances.”

The successful procedure has been widely lauded by the local community, who praised the efforts of the Hospital administration in introducing advanced healthcare services. Many locals have expressed optimism that the hospital’s expanding capabilities will reduce dependency on private clinics and urban hospitals.

The administration at DH Bandipora has urged the public to trust and rely on their services, emphasizing their availability to handle a wide range of medical and dental procedures. “The landmark surgery underlines the hospital’s evolving role in bridging healthcare gaps in rural regions”.
