Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Flags Off Farmers for Exposure Tour to Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana
Bandipora, January 10: In a bid to enhance the knowledge and skills of local farmers, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri along with the Chief Agriculture Officer, Javid Ahmad Samoon today flagged off a group of 17 farmers for a seven-day exposure tour to Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana.
During the flag-off ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner expressed the importance of the training programme, which is designed to familiarize farmers with the latest technological advancements in commercial farming, real-time trends in agricultural practices, and the scientific methods of cultivating various crops and said that the exposure tour is part of ongoing efforts to promote modern farming techniques.
The Deputy Commissioner M.A.Qadri stressed that the programme aims to develop skilled human resources in the agricultural sector and encourage sustainable farming practices. He emphasized that the exposure to new methods and innovations would empower farmers to adopt modern techniques and improve productivity, ensuring a prosperous future for the agricultural community.
CAO, Javid Ahmad Samoon informed that the group of farmers will visit various agricultural sites and research centers during their week-long tour, where they will gain hands-on knowledge and insights that will benefit their farming practices back home.
