Srinagar, Dec 31: Senior JKAS officer Nisar Ahmad Wani, a distinguished 1999 batch officer, attained superannuation today after an illustrious career spanning decades. Wani, who was serving as an Hon’ble Member of the J&K Special Tribunal at the time of his retirement, was accorded an emotional farewell by his colleagues and subordinates.
Known for his humility, dedication, and empathetic approach as a public servant, Wani held a variety of significant positions during his tenure. He served as Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Special Secretary in the Rural Development Department (RDD), Director of Food Supplies Kashmir, Director of Tourism Kashmir, Managing Director of JKTDC, and Director of Employment J&K, among other key roles.
Colleagues and staff, with moist eyes, reflected on Wani’s immense contributions across multiple departments and his impactful leadership. They praised his commitment to productive governance and his ability to connect with people at all levels, leaving behind a legacy of public service.
