REC Limited Allocates ₹14 Crore for Advanced Cancer Treatment in Uttar Pradesh under CSR

 

FIROZABAD, December 27: REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), has committed ₹14 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for advanced cancer treatment in Uttar Pradesh.

An official spokesperson said the funding will support the procurement of a Linear Accelerator (LINAC) machine for the Trauma Centre established by Sevarth Sansthan Seth Bimal Kumar Jain Trauma & Physiotherapy Dharmarth Samiti (SSB) in Firozabad district.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed on December 27, 2024, by Shri Pradeep Fellows, Executive Director (CSR) of REC, and Shri P. K. Jindal, President of SSB, in the presence of Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Chairman and Managing Director of REC Limited.

A Linear Accelerator, or LINAC, is a cutting-edge technology used for precise and effective cancer treatment, including brain, spine, lung, breast, and prostate cancers, among others. T/he installation of the LINAC machine is expected to significantly enhance cancer treatment facilities in the region, offering advanced care to patients.

Spokesperson further informed that this initiative aligns with REC’s commitment to promoting health and well-being as part of its CSR objectives. REC has been a consistent contributor to nation-building, supporting impactful projects across healthcare, education, rural development, and environmental sustainability.

“REC Foundation has undertaken over 400 projects addressing healthcare, sanitation, clean water access, education, skill development, and women empowerment. To date, the Foundation has disbursed over ₹1,300 crore in CSR funds, with a cumulative commitment exceeding ₹2,000 crore,” he said, adding that this project underlines REC’s dedication to creating a healthier and more sustainable future for communities across India.
