SRINAGAR, December 21: In a bid to assess and enhance traffic management along the Zojila axis of the SSG road, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravender Pal Singh, conducted an inspection up to Zero Zojila on Saturday.
Officials said the visit aimed to review the current traffic arrangements and ensure the safety of commuters on this sensitive route.
During the inspection, SSP Singh held briefing sessions with the Traffic officials stationed along the road. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the prescribed traffic advisory and strict compliance with cut-off timings to regulate the movement of vehicular traffic through the Zojila axis.
The SSP also instructed his officers to ensure that only vehicles with proper safety gears and valid documents are allowed to proceed towards Zojila, reinforcing the need for road safety measures.
As part of the initiative, SSP Singh, accompanied by his team of officers, conducted a special enforcement drive at Kangan. The drive resulted in the issuance of several challans against motorists found violating traffic laws, particularly those not wearing safety gear. The enforcement drive specifically targeted visible violations to enhance road safety.
SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravender Pal Singh, has reiterated his commitment to continue such enforcement drives to minimize road accidents and ensure the safety of commuters.
