Bandipora, December 21, 2024: The Municipal Council Bandipora Will Soon be officially declared the town as “Manual Scavenging-Free” after completing a comprehensive survey of manual scavengers within its limits.

The survey was conducted in compliance with the order issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in October 2023, in the case of Dr. Balram Singh vs Union of India & Others, as well as guidelines issued by the Government of India on February 1, 2024.

According to the notice issued by the Municipal Council Bandipora on Friday, the survey found no manual scavengers within the limits of Bandipora.

MCB invited the public and claimants to submit any objections to this declaration in writing to the Municipal Council Bandipora within the next 15 days. “Objections can be submitted in person or emailed to eomcbandipora@gmail.com”.
