Second Day of Sports Activities for DCPU’s Children Continues at SK Stadium

Bandipora, 06 December 2024– The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) continued its initiative to promote sports among children in child care institutions on the second day of activities held in Bandipora. The event featured an exciting lineup of games including cricket, tug of war, and volleyball, providing an opportunity for children to engage in physical fitness and teamwork.

Organized with the support of the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD), the activities aimed to foster a sense of community and encourage healthy lifestyles among the young participants. The children were visibly enthusiastic, showcasing their skills and enjoying the spirit of friendly competition.

Mr. Sahir Majeed, the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), attended the event and expressed his appreciation for the children’s efforts. “I commend all the participants for their enthusiasm and performance,” he stated. Mr. sahir Majeed emphasized the importance of staying fit and noted that such activities instill discipline and teamwork in young minds.

The DCPU plans to continue organizing similar events in the future, ensuring that children in care institutions have access to recreational activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being. The positive feedback from participants highlights the success of these initiatives in enhancing the children’s experience and fostering a sense of belonging.

Earlier In a bid to promote physical fitness and overall well-being among children of child care institutions of District Bandipora, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Bandipora, supported by the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD), organized a three-day sports event for children of Palaash and Pareesha.

The event, held at the sports stadium Bandipora, featured a range of exciting sports activities, including 100m sprint, football, kho-kho, and kabaddi. The activities were conducted under the guidance of Sahir Majeed, District Child Protection Officer, Bandipora.

On Day-I, DCPO، Sahir Majeed emphasized the importance of sports activities in keeping children fit and healthy, while also promoting learning and development.

He said، “Sports activities are essential for the overall growth and development of children۔ They not only improve physical fitness but also teach valuable life skills like teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
