Jammu, December 6, 2024: Army Public School (APS) Damana commemorated Victory Day with a series of inspiring and patriotic events on December 6, 2024, celebrating India’s decisive triumph in the 1971 Indo-Pak War, which led to the creation of Bangladesh.
The day began with a motivational session by Major Prarabdh Bhadoria, attended by approximately 200 students. Major Bhadoria emphasized the sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces, whose valor and dedication remain etched in the nation’s memory. “A soldier is he whose blood glorifies the nation,” he remarked, setting the tone for the day’s events.
Students then watched a short documentary showcasing the heroics of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1971 war, particularly the pivotal role played by the Chenab Brigade. The screening was followed by an interactive session with Major Shubhang, KC, who recounted stories of bravery and leadership that defined the war, inspiring the young audience with tales of indomitable courage.
A painting competition centered on the theme of Victory Day allowed students to express their patriotism and creativity. Their artistic depictions of soldiers’ bravery and sacrifice were highly appreciated by the school’s Chairman and Principal.
Principal Mrs. Pushpinder Kaur encouraged students to uphold the spirit of patriotism and contribute to nation-building in their own ways. She emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of those who fought for the nation’s pride and freedom.
The celebration provided students with a deeper understanding of the significance of Victory Day, fostering respect for the soldiers and instilling a sense of national pride.
