35 JKAS Officers Set to Retire in 2025, Leaving Vacuum In Middle Rung Bureaucracy

Srinagar/ Jammu, Dec 05: There are 35 officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) who are set to retire upon reaching the age of superannuation during the calendar year 2025, leaving a major middle rung administrative vacuum in the bureaucratic set up.

According to the Associated News Bureau (ANB), the notification (Order No. GAD-SERVOKAS/345/2021), dated December 2, 2024, details the retirement schedule for officers from various departments, emphasizing their significant roles in governance. Among the notable names are:

Anil Kaul, member Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, retiring on 30.04.2025. Others who are retiring include Mohammad Malik ,Jatinder Singh, Tej Krishan Bhat, Nazir Ahmad Khoja, Gh. Nabi Itoo, Ali Afsar Khan, Kishore Singh, Bashir Ahmad Wani, Ab. Aziz Sheikh

The other officers retiring are Mohd. Ahsan Mir, Tilak Raj, Bilal Khurshid , Dr. Ravi Bharti, Mushtaq Rather, Zeenat Ara, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din, Bilkees Jan, Ravinder Sharma, Vinay Samotra, Kamlesh Rani, Dilshada Akhter, Nighat Alam, Masood Ahmad, Ghanshyam Basotra, Triloki Nath Koul, Farooq Ahmed Malik, Sunil Kumar, Sri Nath Suman, Zaffar Ahmed Lone, Phoola Kumari, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Gul Afshan Nighat, Abdul Rashid Rashi and Ajaz Hussain Lanker.

The retiring officers have held pivotal roles in departments such as Revenue, Social Welfare, Tourism, and Floriculture. Their contributions have been instrumental in shaping policies and delivering services across the Union Territory.

The GAD order has been disseminated to all relevant departments, ensuring a streamlined transition process. The government also acknowledged the dedicated service of these officers and their significant impact on administration.
