Indian Army Hosts Awareness Lecture on World AIDS Day in Rajouri

Rajouri, December 3, 2024: The Indian Army marked World AIDS Day by organizing an awareness lecture at Government High School, Massoite, Parat. The event focused on this year’s global theme, “Ending the HIV Epidemic: Equitable Access, Everyone’s Voice,” addressing local challenges related to AIDS, such as stigma, healthcare accessibility, and limited awareness in remote areas.

The lecture highlighted the importance of early testing, prevention, and treatment, particularly in regions where the rugged terrain often hinders timely medical intervention. As part of its ongoing efforts, the Indian Army has been conducting Mobile Medical Patrols and medical camps in collaboration with the state government to educate and support communities. Free counseling sessions have also been initiated in remote villages.

The event saw participation from 59 students and three teachers, who actively engaged with the lecture. Teachers and students expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for its commitment to tackling health and social challenges in far-flung areas.

The initiative underscored the Indian Army’s dedication to fostering a healthier and more informed society, reaffirming its commitment to reaching underserved communities and promoting equitable access to healthcare resources.
