Bandipora, December 3: The Excise & Taxation Department, Excise Range North Kashmir, in collaboration with the District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC), Bandipora, organized a vibrant event titled “Let’s Brush Against Drug Abuse” at Universal Public School, Plan Bandipora, as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
An official spokesperson said the event combined creativity and engagement to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. Students participated in a painting competition and sports activities, including carrom and chess, fostering an environment of learning and fun while emphasizing the importance of a drug-free lifestyle.
Certificates, posters, and informational materials were distributed to participants to strengthen their resolve against substance abuse. The event also incorporated educational sessions under the Community-Based Peer-Led Intervention (CPLI) by DDAC Bandipora, further enhancing its impact.
Spokesperson said the initiative was widely appreciated by the public and the school management, who commended the organizers for their innovative approach to tackling a pressing social issue.
“Such efforts inspire young minds and play a critical role in building a drug-free society,” noted a school representative. “The program concluded on a high note, leaving participants motivated and better informed about embracing healthier, addiction-free lifestyles”.
