Bandipora, November 09: Congress legislator from Bandipora, Nizamuddin Bhat, on Saturday criticized the Bandipora District Administration, accusing it of “administrative negligence” and failure to follow up on a recent review meeting chaired by him a week ago.

Bhat accused the District Administration of administrative negligence and dereliction of professional duties after they allegedly failed to issue minutes of Review Meeting conducted by the legislator on November 02.

Bhat expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, tagging the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora in a post on X, “How serious are we about public issues? We take review meetings only to get the focus and proper redressal . It is Just not a photo session. Let the officers in authority at least send minutes with action proposed, action possible”

Talking to Kashmir Convener, Bhat said he reviewed various developmental issues pertaining to different departments including Irrigation, Jal Shakti, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture, Education, R&B, PMGSY, Health, FCS&CA, Social Welfare and other Departments.

“Even after a week, the administration hasn’t issued the minutes of the meeting,” Bhat told Kashmir Convener. He argued that this lack of follow-up not only reflects “dereliction of duties” but also undermines the importance of democratic institutions.

Bhat stressed that review meetings are meant for meaningful discussions on public concerns and not for “photo ops.” “When commitments made by officers remain undocumented, such meetings become ineffective, and all we discuss becomes meaningless,” he remarked.
