Srinagar, Nov 8, 2024: In a bid to ensure the quality of milk supplied in Srinagar, the Food Safety Department, part of the Drug and Food Control Organization, conducted a surprise inspection across several city zones to check the quality of milk.
The operation, led by Food Safety Officer Yameen ul Nabi from Zones I, II, and IV aimed to check the quality of loose milk distributed to consumers, officials told Kashmir Convener.
As part of the drive, 28 legal samples of loose milk were collected for analysis. “This inspection is part of our ongoing commitment to protect public health and maintain food safety standards,” said Yameen ul Nabi.
“We are dedicated to preventing the sale of adulterated or contaminated milk and will take stringent action against any violators,” he added.
The department has emphasized that these inspections will continue intensively in the coming days to promote a safer food environment for the city’s residents.
