Bandipora, September 8: In a remarkable celebration of International Literacy Day, the Chief Education Office (CEO) Bandipora, under the leadership of Chief Education Officer Bandipora Kishore Kumar successfully culminated a series of activities across all zones of the district as part of the ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society) initiative.
The ULLAS activities, aimed at promoting literacy and education, were conducted in various educational institutions throughout Bandipora. These activities included essay writing, painting competition,literacy drives, awareness programs, and cultural events that underscored the significance of literacy in building an informed and empowered society. Thousand of children along with other citizens participated in these activities.
Speaking at the district-level event, the Chief Education Officer expressed his deep satisfaction with the widespread participation of students, teachers, and community members,” The ULLAS initiative has been instrumental in reaching every corner of our district, and today, we celebrate the spirit of learning that brings us all together,” he stated.
All zones across Bandipora were actively involved in the literacy campaign, with special emphasis on non-litertates .
CEO Bandipora praised the collaborative efforts of all zones and commended the dedication of the educational workforce in Bandipora.
District Nodal Officer ULLAS Mir Irfam Maqbool said “Under the guidance of the Chief Education Officer, we have seen tremendous enthusiasm from schools and communities alike, making this initiative a success,”.
The week long event also featured a special session on the role of literacy in fostering civic responsibility and enhancing voter awareness, tying in with ongoing efforts under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.
International Literacy Day 2024 with week long activities since 1st Sept in the district witnesses a commitment to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to society.
