Adv Masood Bhat elected as president Bandipora Bar Association

Bandipora, May 04: Bandipora District Bar Association on Saturday elected Advocate Masood Bhat as its president While Advocate Ab Rashid Khan was elected unopposed as vice president .

The elections were held at the district court complex in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An official spokesperson of the Bar Association said at least 48 members of the bar cast their vote to elect office bearers of the association.

Advocate Masood Bhat secured 26 votes while his close contender for the post secured only 22 votes.

However, Advocate Ab Rashid Khan was elected as vice-president unopposed. Advocate Sameer was elected as secretary.

Speaking on the occasion Advocate Bhat thanked the lawyers he will try his best to come upto the expectation of the members.

Advocate Bhat said during past few years they have been able to resolve some of the pressing demands of the lawyers including the issue related to their chambers and other infrastructural facilities. He said more needs to be done and hoped that  together they will be able to resolve several other issues.

Later the new body of the Bar Association assumed office and were warmly welcomed by members and felicitated by the lawyers.
