Jammu, May 02: Manthan-2024, The brainstorming session spanned over two days with the aim to realign and bring all stakeholders on the same platform, with the intent of Empowering NCC Cadets to become potential Leaders and Responsible Citizens culminated on Thursday.
Defence Spokesperson in Jammu said, It was a freewheeling discussion combined with an informal approach to achieve problem-solving through lateral thinking and thus make an endeavour to develop certain new concepts for NCC through innovative ways.
He said during the debates, it was decided that a Special National Integration Camps shall be held at Srinagar to make cadets understand and value the rich heritage of cultures that forge unity despite the diverse languages, traditions and religions of our country.
Members discussed issues to make it more impactful for young generation measures recommended to be adopted to make it more vibrant and innovative.
Officials discussed Improving overall Training Standards through creation of Training Assets and optimum Utilisation of Training Funds. Course of Action for sanction of land and creation of Training Infrastructure for Training Academy at Chhatabal.
Spokesperson said Keeping in view the new raisings of the Directorate, feasibility of Conduct of ATCs/CATCs in Schools/Colleges of Jammu Group during vacations shall be conducted in order to reduce load on NCC Training Academy, Nagrota.
A Presentation on improving accountability and measure performance on quantifiable parameters for ANO’s shall also be held with the aim of establishing a SOP and bringing out best practices.
On the occasion the ADG congratulated the audience for their active participation. He concluded the Manthan 2024 with a vote of thanks and entrusted all Officers to imbibe on the discussion taken and maintain the momentum for making NCC more vibrant and successful with regular follow up.
He shared good news that BRO is now giving 10% and 5% marks to NCC ‘C’ and ‘B’ Cert holders for enrolment. ADG mentioned that we all are concerned with leadership development of cadets for which brainstorming was carried out to arrive at actionable points.
He said Motivation of ANOs and Cadets should be an ongoing process with regular appreciation awards to be given. Brainstorming of training events like RDC, TSC, NSC and IDSSC have been discussed in detail and all stakeholders should follow the outcome of the same in a collaborative manner.
“We must also imbibe and imitate best practices of each other such as “Sampark” and Permanent Instructional Staff Parades in the mornings,” he said, adding that focus should be on making NCC training more vibrant, innovative and impactful for the youth. Lets align ourselves in training through collaborative approach to align with the Vision.
“We must be Agilent, resilient, perseverant and patient with the training processes”.
