Ganderbal, April 18: As part of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, Government College of Engineering and Technology Kashmir on Thursday organised a rally to raise awareness regarding the importance of voting.
The event was marked by enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, all coming together to advocate for democracy and emphasize the importance of voting.
Officials said the primary objective of the rally was to raise awareness about the significance of democratic participation, particularly in the context of the upcoming elections.
Holding placards and raising slogans, the participants aimed to encourage people to exercise their right to vote and engage in the democratic process actively.
The rally commenced with an opening speech by the NSS programme Officer Prof. Sameer Ahmad, highlighting the fundamental principles of democracy and the responsibility of every citizen to contribute to the electoral process.
Following this, students and faculty members took to the stage, holding up creatively designed placards with messages urging people to vote.
The placards carried various slogans and statements such as: "Your Vote matters: "Every Vote Counts "," Your Voice, Your Vote", "Vote for a Better Future!" "Every Vote Counts: Be the Change You Want to See!" "Empowerment Lies in the Ballot: Exercise Your Right!" "Voting is Not Just a Right, It's a Responsibility!"
Accompanied by spirited chants and cheers, the participants marched through the college ground and ended up at Main Chowk Safapora, displaying their placards proudly and engaging with onlookers.
The rally succeeded in capturing the attention of the college community and beyond, drawing interest from students, faculty, and local residents alike.
Through their vibrant displays and impassioned appeals, the participants effectively conveyed the message of democratic empowerment and the crucial role of voting in shaping the future of the nation.
