Eid joy of Bandipora families turn into ashes after two residential houses, shop gutted in fire

Bandipora, Apr 10: After the confirmation of Shawal moon sighted in parts of valley, everybody was excited to celebrate Eid with their families, but it turned the celebrations of Bandipora families into ashes after two residential houses and a Bakery shop gutted in overnight blaze in Ashtangoo Village of Bandipora district on Wednesday.

Locals sources while confirming the incident said that the fire erupted at around 2:30 n midnight in the Bakery shop results and within short span of time two houses belonging to Mohd Sultan Ganie and Gh Mohd Ganie reduced into ashes, despite the efforts of the locals who rushed to the scene to douse flames.

The incident leaves the poor families homeless, however after hectic efforts from locals and fire tenders other houses were saved to catch fire after dousing flames.

The cause of the fire was not immediately ascertained. 

Local residents of the area appealed to authorities to compensate these families so that they can build their houses again and will not suffer.
