March 28: Hassan Khoyehami Memorial (HKM) College Bandipora on Thursday launched a plantation drive named ‘Plant One, Adopt One’ campaign within the collage campus. An official spokesperson said the Eco Club, NSS Unit, and Department of Botany of HKM GDC Bandipora jointly organized a Plantation Drive.
The event's theme was 'Plant One Adopt One', emphasising the importance of planting trees and nurturing their growth.
Principal of the college Dr (Prof) Masood Ahmad Malik formally inaugurated the drive by planting a maple tree to kickstart the drive.
On the occasion Prof. Malik highlighted the significance of tree plantation in environmental conservation and sustainable living.
Faculty members and students participated in the drive with great enthusiasm, planting and adopting various tree species across the campus.
Spokesperson said the entire campus witnessed a transformation as trees were planted in designated areas, enhancing the greenery and ecological balance of the surroundings.
“The drive also served as an educational platform, fostering awareness among students about the vital role of trees in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity”.
