Adv. Waseem Gul gets 2nd term as president Kashmir Advocates Association

 

Srinagar, March 18:  Advocate Waseem Gul was re-elected as the President of the Kashmir Advocates Association for the 2nd consecutive term on Monday after triumphing over Advocate Mohammad Rafiq Sofi.

Advocate Mubashir Majid Malik was also re-elected as Vice President after prevailing over Adv. Sofi Owais. Similarly, the role of General Secretary was claimed by Adv. S. Jeetender Singh, who surpassed Advocate Wahid Lone in the election.

After winning the election, President Waseem Gul reiterated his unwavering commitment to supporting the legal fraternity, particularly focusing on addressing the challenges encountered by junior lawyers. "I am resolute in my determination to confront the issues faced by our esteemed colleagues," he affirmed.

 He pledged to organize comprehensive workshops aimed at enhancing professionalism among association members, thereby fostering a conducive environment for legal practice. Assuring all members of the Kashmir Advocates Association, Gul expressed optimism that his re-election heralds a transformative phase under the new leadership.

 

The election process was meticulously overseen by Advocates Basharat Majid Khanday, Muzamil Zahoor and Rozy Nabi.

In a parallel election for the post of Joint Secretary, Advocate Syed Adil Muneer Andrabi emerged victorious uncontested, highlighting the unity within the association. Additionally, Advocate Ashaq Hussain Mir clinched the position of Treasurer without facing any opposition. Similarly, Advocate Zahid Qais Noor was elected unopposed as the Coordinator, reflecting a consensus among members.

Waseem Gul expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Election Commissioner Advocate Basharat Majid Khanday and the entire team for their efforts in ensuring a fair, seamless, and transparent electoral process.
