Army Organises Medical, Veterinary Camp at Kishtwar

Srinagar, Feb 29: Indian Army on Thursday organised a Medical and Veterinary Camp for residents and livestock at Bugrana village of Kishtwar district as a goodwill gesture and in continuance of its commitment to work for welfare of general public.

Defence spokesperson Lt Col Suneel Bartwal said that the aim of this camp is to deliver basic medical services at the door steps of the medically less privileged clientele residing in remote and far-flung villages and provide veterinary support for animals and medical facilities for migrating Gujar, thereby providing them the required basic medical facilities for themselves and their livestock. 

“During the camp, Veterinary doctors and a team of doctors from the Army and Civil Comprising Medical Specialists attended to the patients requiring medical care,” he said.

Officials said as many as 135 Men, 156 women and 43 Children were provided with free medical care along with preliminary investigation and medicines for the commonly occurring ailments, he said.

 Morever,135 livestock including sheep, goats, cows and horses, were also treated and provided with free medicines during the camp. 

The resident populace appreciated this endeavour of Armed Forces to address their genuine requirements and aspirations. This camp will go a long way in alleviating the health issues of resident population and their livestock and further strengthen bonds of friendship between Army and the local Awaam, he added.
