Awareness Programme Against Child Drug Abuse held at Budgam

Budgam, Feb 24: District Social Welfare Officer Budgam and District Child Protection Officer Budgam on Saturday organised an awareness-cum sensitization program regarding drug abuse aiming to preventing children from falling into drug abuse.

 Dr. Rouf Mohi-ud-Din Malik, Ex-member of the Selection cum Oversight Committee (SCOC) ICPS J&K, chaired the program, joined by officials from DCPU Budgam, Pareesha Khansahib, Palaash Budgam, and Chinar Home Budgam.

An official spokesperson said the focus was on preventing children from falling into drug abuse. Children from Pareesha, Palaash, and Chinar Home Budgam, along with their caretakers, were educated about drug abuse and addiction under NAPDDR.

The guest speaker Dr. Rouf Mohi-ud-Din Malik stressed the importance of collective effort in raising awareness and combating drug abuse in society. 

He highlighted the risks children face when experimenting with drugs, especially how it can harm their health and safety, particularly their vulnerable brains.

Towards the end, children from Pareesha and Palaash performed skits to highlight the harmful effects of drug consumption, earning appreciation from the dignitaries present.
