Bandipora, Jan 04: The Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Thursday conducted a thorough review of the ongoing Additional Demand Fund projects carried out by the Rural Development Department (RDD) in the district and directed the respective officers to expedite the pace of completion for these works.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak who also holds the charge of Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) besides officials of the RDD, including Block Development Officers (BDOs) and other concerned also attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing CAPEX/ADF works undertaken by the RDD. The DC said that these works, financed by the District Capex Budget and the Additional Demand Fund, play a crucial role in rural development.
Dr Owais reviewed the physical status of each project, highlighting the need for quality construction and timely completion. He stressed that delays in project completion would not be tolerated and instructed officials to address any bottlenecks hindering progress.
During the meeting, it was revealed that under CAPEX/ADF, for the current fiscal, rupees 44 crore have been allocated to RDD for various works with an expenditure of rupees 23.44 crore till date. The meeting was further informed that out of 1538 works, 1120 works stand completed till date.
For other sectors, including education, health, agriculture, PHE, PDD, etc, out of rupees 3.85 crore allocation for 68 approved works, rupees 1.33 crore stand spent on different works.
While reviewing PMAY-G, the chair was informed that more than 4500 cases have been sanctioned in Bandipora in favor of homeless eligible beneficiaries.
Dr. Owais urged officials to ensure transparency and community participation in project planning and execution. The Deputy Commissioner also stressed for close coordination among different stakeholders to enhance the impact of all the schemes of RDD.
