Mohammad Ahsan Rather  elected Chairman JK Yateem Foundation

Srinagar, December 31Mohammad Ahsan Rather was elected Chairman of J&K Yateem Foundation (JKYF) for a two year term  on Sunday. He was administered oath of secrecy and allegiance to the JKYF.

The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of JKYF comprising of elected executive members from all districts in J&K, elected Mr Rather through a secret ballot held at BAITUL HILAL, Jawahar Nagar Srinagar.

 Out of 18, Mr Ahsan secured 17 votes.

An official spokesperson said the chairman was elected in a secret ballot as per provision of JKYF Constitution. The outgoing Chairman Mohammad Rafiq Lone served for two successive stints and was not eligible for the 3rd successive term.

 Rather has served as Founding Chairman and later also served for two terms as Chairman. He also served as Member of JKYF's Permanent Accountability Commission (PAC). He is one of the founding members of JKYF in year 2000 with the JKYF's mission to serve poor, deserving and destitute irrespective of caste, colour, creed, region or religion.

The election process took place under the supervision of Permanent Accountability Commission (PAC) of JKYF comprising of two members namely Mohammad Ahsan Rather and Dr Tariq Ahmad Malik.
