Two Innovative Projects from IDPS B’pora Secure Spot in Pragaash at SKICC

Srinagar, Dec 18: Two innovation projects from International Delhi Public School (IDPS) Bandipora secured a spot in The Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) Innovation Showcase, a celebration of student innovation at SKICC Srinagar, organized by Niti Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission, PI Jam Foundation, Samagra Shiksha, and the Directorate of School Education last month.

 Chairperson IDPS Fayaz Ahmad said Students from International Delhi Public School (IDPS) Bandipora participated in the event, showcasing their innovation prowess. “Out of 400 projects, two ground breaking projects were selected from IDPS Bandipora,” he informed.

The Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell and AICTE organized the 20th IIC regional meet on Nov 26, 2023, at SKICC Srinagar however the projects were got selected today. Dr. Chintin Vishnav, Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) NITI Ayogy, and Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) supervised the event.

Chairman IDPS said the first project, a solar-based ECG machine, was presented by Wani Areeba and Toiba Fayaz, emphasizing sustainable healthcare solutions. 

The second project, a high-alert security system, showcased the dedication of Adnan Nazir and Mehvish Zahoor under the guidance of Er. Khursheed Ahmad Bhat and the sole guidance of school chairman Fayaz Ahmad.

“These projects not only demonstrate the students' technical acumen but also reflect their awareness of pressing societal needs”. 

 Driven by the vision to cultivate innovative thinking in one million Indian children, the Atal Innovation Mission has been establishing Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) in schools nationwide. These labs aim to foster curiosity, creativity, and skills like design mindset, computational thinking, and adaptive learning.

“IDPS Bandipora takes pride in nurturing innovative minds, fostering a culture of excellence in technology and social responsibility,” the chairperson added.
