Bandipora, Dec 16: The Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) in Bandipora Bilal Ahmad Mir, on Saturday continued drive against violation of traffic rules and seized several vehicles besides penalizing others.
An official said that Fifteen vehicles were blacklisted, and five auto-rickshaws without proper documents were seized during a special drive on the Bandipora-Sumbal road.
"Notices were issued to five permit holders and five driving license holders for traffic violations," he said.
He said that the checking, which included about 45 vehicles, focused on aspects like the installation of speed limiting devices and overloading. Offenders were collectively fined Rs. 35,000.
"The ARTO is committed to enforcing traffic regulations and enhancing road safety in the area," the official added
